Kathak & Modern Dance | Run-time: about 40 minutes
Offering was created in 2025/26 as a collaboration between Tanu Sharma, a classical Kathak dancer and the Big Red Dance Project. The BRDP is a collective of adults who challenge the stereotypes about aging and artistry. As artists, we met at the American Dance Festival's commissioned program Made in NC. That performance resulted in a conversation in which we expressed our mutual interest in how classical Indian dance and Modern dance could engage with each other and expand possibilities for both.
